Your garden is yours. So is your data.
Last updated July 3, 2026
We collect only what we need to coach your garden — your email, your spot, and what you're growing — and nothing we don't. We never sell your data or use it for ads. You can see, change, or delete everything anytime, right in the app.
Seededly is a food-growing coach. To give you the right steps for your yard, we need to know a few things about you and your garden. Here's exactly what, why, and what you can do about it — no fine-print games.
What we collect
Your account
Your email address, so you can sign in and your garden syncs across your phone and the web. If you set a password, we store it hashed — scrambled with a one-way function so no one, including us, can read it. You can also sign in with a one-time code we email you.
Your garden
What you're growing, your beds, harvests, photos, and notes. This is the whole point — it's how we know what to tell you this week. We store it so it follows you to every device and so nothing's lost if your phone is.
Your location
The spot you set — a pin, a town, or a ZIP. If you'd rather not, we fall back to a rough, city-level location from your internet connection. We use it to pull real local weather and frost dates for your exact place. We don't track where you physically go.
Payments
If you subscribe, your card is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe does that, securely. We keep a record of which plan you're on and the basics of your subscription.
How you use the app
Which screens and features you open, so we can see what's helping and make Seededly better. That's it — no third-party ad trackers, no data brokers, no creepy stuff.
How we use it
- To coach your garden — the right task, at the right time, for your weather and your crops.
- To send you only the alerts and emails you asked for (frost warnings, watering reminders, sign-in codes).
- To run your subscription and keep the app working across your devices.
- To fix bugs and make the product better.
We do not sell your data, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. Ever.
Who we share it with (and why)
We use a handful of trusted services to actually run Seededly. Each gets only what it needs for its job:
- Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
- Resend — sends the emails you get from us (sign-in codes, invites, notifications).
- Anthropic — powers the AI plant doctor and in-app assistant. When you ask, we send your question and the plant details (and the photo, if you add one) to get an answer. Under Anthropic's terms, that isn't used to train their models.
- Cloudflare — hosts the app and stores your garden data.
- Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap & similar — turn your location into live weather, frost dates, and place names.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect Seededly and its growers from fraud or abuse.
Your choices & rights
- See and edit your account and garden anytime in the app.
- Change your email from Settings.
- Delete your account from Settings — it removes your account, garden, and personal data. (We keep minimal payment records where the law requires.)
- Turn off notifications whenever you like.
Cookies & storage
We use a secure sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage so your garden works offline. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfect, but we take protecting your garden seriously.
Kids
Seededly isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. (Kids in the dirt with a grown-up's account, though — that's the dream.)
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top and, for anything significant, let you know in the app.
