Our story
It started with berries.

Jess wanted to grow her own berries. She's a new mom, and our one-year-old goes through berries faster than we can buy them — so instead of paying grocery prices all year, she wanted a patch of our own. Simple enough, except she didn't know how, or when, or why, or even which ones to plant. Every guide out there assumed she was already an expert. She wasn't. She just wanted to grow something good and feed it to our kid.

So I built her an app. Tell it what you want to grow and where you are, and it hands you the exact steps — one at a time, tuned to our actual weather and frost dates. No jargon, no rabbit holes. Just the next thing to do.

It worked. The berries came in, and our one-year-old ate them by the fistful — for the price of a few plants instead of a grocery run every week. And then Jess said the thing that turned a little berry app into Seededly:

"I think this could do a lot more than berries — for everyone who wants to grow their own food but doesn't have the time to become an expert." — Jess, co-founder (and the reason any of this exists)

She was right. Most people don't want a degree in horticulture. They want tomatoes that don't die, a garden that feeds the family, and someone to just tell them what to do this week. Expert results, without the years of expertise.

So we built one for you.

What Seededly is now

A food-growing coach that carries the expertise so you don't have to. It reads your real local weather and frost history and turns it into the single most useful thing to do today — sow this now, hold off on that, cover the beans tonight, the blueberries are ripening. ★ The Homestead wing

Then it grew up. This is the part I built for the way I actually want to live.

I love the outdoors and I love being self-reliant — not at the mercy of a supply chain. So Homestead takes everything the garden coach knows and asks a bigger question: how much of your own life could you provide for — and for how long? Then it helps you get there, one honest number at a time, with the tips, how-tos, and knowledge that usually take years and a lot of expensive mistakes to earn.

Being genuinely self-sufficient used to mean trial, error, and a shelf of half-right books. Now it's a clear plan and a handful of modules that do the hard tracking for you:

🔥 Hearth
Your private homestead assistant. "What should I put up this week?" "Does this hen look off?" "Where's my biggest food gap?" — answered from your real garden, flock, and larder, not the internet's.
🫙 The Larder
Log everything you store and raise, and watch it become one honest number: how many months your household could eat entirely from home — and exactly where you fall short.
🐔 Livestock
Track your flock and herd. It turns into eggs, dairy, and protein you can count on — folded straight into your food-security picture.
💧 Water
Gallons stored, filter or not → how many days your household stays covered if the tap ever stops.
⚡ Energy
Fuel, a generator, a battery bank, solar, wood heat — logged and totaled into the days of backup power you actually have.
🍯 The Kitchen
What to preserve from the garden right now, dinners from what's on hand, and safe, tested canning — no guesswork with your family's food.
💵 Worth
Every harvest and egg valued at local grocery prices — the real money your land hands back, adding up all season long.
🌰 Seed Bank
Save your own seed from the crops you already grow, and stop buying it every single spring.
🤝 Trade & Skills
Swap your surplus with neighbors, and learn — or teach — the hands-on skills that make a homestead actually run.
📚 Knowledge Base
Dozens of sourced, no-fluff how-tos on growing, raising, preserving, and getting by — the stuff that usually takes years to learn.
📊 Food-Security Dashboard
The whole picture in one view: months of food covered, your weak spots, and the next thing worth shoring up.

Self-sufficiency just got a whole lot easier — and a whole lot cheaper — to master.
